Darrin Taylor
Darrin Taylor joined the Grimmond group in late 2001. He was first employed as the computational manager and bioinformatician for the SRC Microarray Facility where he set up the first website and associated web tools for the facility. In 2003 Darrin became part of the Renal Regeneration Consortium, in particular the Stem Cell Gene Anatomy Project side of it. He developed the Kidney SCGAP website as well as being part of the development behind the SCGAP gene search portal. He was the bioinformatician and data manager for all the microarray data produced by the Kidney SCGAP group in Melbourne and Queensland as well. In late 2005 he became involved in the GenitoUrinary Development Molecular Anatomy Project. The thrust of his work here was once again manage the data produced from this project as well as develop and improve the high throughput content of the project by developing a Lab Information Management System (LIMS) to record all the data as well as the associated information about each section of the pipeline.
Darrin is also an integral part of the Lab by providing mountains of useless information about mythology, movies and role playing games. He enjoys chain-mail hotpants, and long walks on the beach, but is still undecided on the issue of bunnies. He has had enough Hot genomic action to last a lifetime :-)
